Social Media Best Practices for Legal Nurse Consultants Part 2

05/20/2013 by Pat Iyer

woman with computerI recently came across the 10 social media best practices by ASNE. I’ve modified them for legal nurse consultants.

Social Media Best Practices for LNCs

1. Break news on your website, not on Twitter. The purpose of announcements and press releases is to drive traffic to your site. You can tweet a link to your announcement on your site.
2. Spread the potential reach of your tweets or Facebook postings by mentioning another person. When you do that, your message will go to your followers or friends and also to that other person’s following (if you are friends on Facebook.)
3. Social networks are tools, not toys. Cite a source when you are passing on information. Give credit to bloggers or article postings.
4. Be transparent and correct mistakes when you make them. Be quick to offer new information if it challenges what you have written.
5. Make sure your LinkedIn profile contains nothing but the truth. If you misrepresent your work history, you’ll be found out. Employers and potential clients are looking at your profile before you even walk in the door.
